I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy, pleasant read that kept me in the story. Even though I would characterize this story as chicklit or New Adult, Esri Allbritten's style is casual and smooth, realistic without having a lot of chicklit type tropes and references (no "notes to self" or constant designer name references).If you like the Tarot or are fascinated by it, you'll find this book enjoyable as well. She interweaves information about different decks of Tarot cards, as well as the meaning of the cards, effortlessly throughout the story. It doesn't bog it down at all.
There were a couple "slow" parts, but in the end the book was a quick, enjoyable read that kept calling me back to it until I finished it!

I read a lot and enjoy all kinds of genres. I liked this book.
Jokers and Fools was extremely entertaining and a worthwhile read. The characters were engaging and the storyline original. Makes me want a Tarot Reading!!!

I'm a fan of books about Tarot, and I was happy to stumble upon Esri Allbritten's delightful tale. Since her main character is resourceful and funny, watching her grow and change throughout the book was a pleasure. The various sub-plots contain unexpected twists and turns, leading to a satisfying conclusion. Of course, I hope the author will write more books about this spunky Tarot reader.
Wonderful book......."Jokers and Fools" sent me through the gamut of emotions from laughter to tears. If you love dogs, especially chihuahuas, you will feel for little Julio, losing his master and trying to figure out what is happening in his little doggy life. LeeLee will have you speculating as she deals with the loss of her mother, going back to work, finding love, but more importantly finding herself. Esri Allbritten truly captures the essence and personality of my favorite breed, along with the uncertainty that comes when your world is turned upside down by major change.
I just love it when a story pulls me into the life's of the characters. Esri Allbritten's capture of the characters was perfect, I believe I know people just like all of them. This was one of those books that a little sadness comes at the end because you want to know more about the people and what happens. I look forward to reading whatever this author creates in the future.
